How to: Transfer books to a new Kobo eReader

If you have acquired a new Kobo eReader and you already have a different eReader, you can transfer your existing Books to your new Kobo.

These are the three ways you can transfer your eBooks from your old device to the new one

Books you purchased from Kobo will appear in your Library once you sign in to your new Kobo eReader with your existing Kobo account.

Sign in to your new Kobo eReader using the same Kobo account you used on your old Kobo eReader.
In your Library, tap on a book’s cover to download it to your new Kobo eReader.

If you have books on your old eReader that you added using Adobe Digital Editions, you’ll need to copy those to your new eReader, too.

Connect your new device to your PC.
Tap Connect on your device.
Launch Adobe Digital Editions on your PC.
Adobe Digital Editions should identify the new device and ask you to approve it.
Follow the instructions.
When your device is authorized, select the books you want to add in Adobe Digital Editions.
Drag and drop the books onto the device icon in your list of Bookshelves.
Eject your device from your computer.
Transferring PDF or EPUB books from your old eReader to your new eReader

Connect your old device to your computer.
Create a folder on your computer and name it something like “Books.”
Using Windows Explorer (on a Windows computer) or Finder (on a Mac), find your old device.
Copy any books that you haven’t already transferred to your new device and paste them into the folder you created.
Eject and then disconnect your old device from the PC.
Connect your device to your PC using a MicroUSB cable and tap Connect.
Using your file manager (Windows Explorer or Finder), drag your folder of books to the icon representing your Kobo eReader. This will copy them to the device.
Eject and disconnect your device from the computer.
