I have recently purchased a Kobo eReader, and I am astonished as to how much I love it! I have been a die-hard loyalist to the hardback and paperback world of books. But not having to carry pounds of books around just for entertainment has been rather nice I must say.
I have always said there is nothing better than a well-designed book cover and the feel of a new book! Needless to say, I have an extensive library full of hardback and paperback books. I am wondering if you know how to transfer my library to my new digital eReader, without needing to purchase my books again.
I have some book that I recently purchased that I noticed have a link printed in them that I can access a digital copy as well. But my older books from like 20-25 years old, I am at a loss for transferring.
Thanks for this awesome article on the Kobo eReader, it is just as fabulous as you said and more!

I don’t know where to start…
Having a Kobo (any ebook reader in general) has many advantages over printed books.
If you have books in a digital format you can check out How to: Transfer Books to a new Kobo Reader.
You can find the free digital version of a book you already own on various sites. Check out How To Get Free Ebooks Legitimately and How to Access Free eBooks & Audiobooks. You will need to search a little bit, but I’m sure you can find the books you want.
So, have fun searching for ebooks, and enjoy your Kobo ereader!

Hi Michel,
Thanks for the comment. I am a fan of ebook readers, for the same reasons you are saying here. Yes, the printed book has charm, but it’s too bulky, especially on the road. Check out When I use ebooks, audiobooks and printed books.
Enjoy your journey!
Marios
Hi Marios,
You have really got me thinking now, I like to read a lot of books when I am travelling for work but have always stuck with paperback books. Not sure why as I have never actually tried eBooks. Reading your review has made me seriously consider trying an eReader though as I like to travel as light as possible, one of my only concerns would be how often do you need to charge them up and can you keep reading while they are charging too? I am not the most organised and wouldn’t want to get caught on a flight with a flat eReader.
As a complete beginner is there any sort of package you would recommend that would include an eReader and book subscription to get me started please? I like to read a wide range of eBooks but mainly business books if that makes any difference. Also where is the best place to buy a Kobo eBook as I am not sure where to start looking.
Thanks for a great read
Pete
Hi Pete,
I’m glad to hear that my review has sparked your interest in trying out eReaders for your travels! They can indeed be a game-changer when it comes to travelling light while still having access to a wide range of books. In terms of battery life, eReaders are designed to last for weeks on a single charge, depending on usage. You can typically read for hours on end without needing to recharge. And yes, you can usually continue reading while the device is charging, so you won’t have to worry about being caught with a flat eReader during a flight.
As for getting started, I would recommend considering a package that includes an eReader and a book subscription service. One popular option is the Kobo eReader, which offers a great reading experience and a wide selection of eBooks. You can explore different packages that include a Kobo eReader and a subscription to services like Kobo Plus or Kindle Unlimited, which provide access to a vast library of books, including business books. These subscriptions can be a cost-effective way to access a diverse range of titles.
When it comes to purchasing a Kobo eReader, you can find it on various online platforms such as the official Kobo website, major online retailers like Amazon, or even at local electronics stores. It’s always a good idea to compare prices and read reviews to ensure you’re getting the best deal and a reliable purchasing experience.
I hope this helps you get started on your eReader journey, Pete! Enjoy the convenience and flexibility of digital reading and happy travels!
Best regards,
Marios
