Buying an eReader and start downloading and reading books is great, but nowadays eReaders have evolved to do much more than plain eBook reading. There are a few sites which help tame the eBook reader industry. They include news, reviews, hints, and tips about eReaders as well as other reading devices, such as tablets, and their accessories. Some of them also include sections regarding not only reading but also writing and publishing your own eBooks. So, here are the 6 (+ 1) eReader blogs you should follow in order to take full advantage of your device (besides this one, of course 😉 ).
The main blogs
eReader Palace
This is a great all-around blog. You can find anything you want, from free eBook deals, hardware (e-readers, cases, covers, skins) to technical advice. A must read for every ebook lover!
The Digital Reader
This is also a great blog to read, especially regarding eBook technology and eBooks news. Not that many hints and tips, but if you want to learn anything about the industry, this is your go-to blog!
Good eReader
Another very good blog on the ebooks/eReaders industry, focusing on news and devices. And not only on eReaders, but other eBook reading devices as well – tablets, mobile phones etc. Another good resource for the industry.
eBook Friendly
This is a different blog. It doesn’t focus that much on the news but has great info on all aspects of eReaders. A very different, but a great and different design than all other blogs. A list based blog, it covers eReaders, as well as tablets and a great source for infographics.
The eBook Reader
This is a hybrid of eReader Palace and Good eReader. Mainly covers the news of the eReader/tablet and eBooks industry, and has a great menu as well as a resource library for most of the main eReader manufacturers. A complimentary blog, also great to follow, and visit from time to time.
Teleread
Another “all-around” blog, covers all the aspects of the industry. It is the only blog that has a great section on writing and publishing eBooks. My go-to source for the “production” aspect of eBooks.
Bonus
A Kindle World Blog
This one specializes on Amazon’s Kindle, has a vast amount of information, reviews, tips, and tricks. The only downside is that it has stopped updating, therefore I wouldn’t suggest following it at the moment. But for me, as a Kindle owner, this is a treasure 😉
Over to you
Being an avid reader, I consider it very important to be updated with all the news, hints and tips the industry has to offer. So, what blogs do you follow? Which do you prefer? Are there any other blogs that you are aware of? Write your favorite eReader blogs in the comments section below.

This article certainly makes for a great reference list of blogs when it comes to the eBook market; something I’m quite heavily onto for both writing and reading.
I tend to use the Kindle app on my iPhone for downloading and reading eBooks, but of course this limits me to only buying books from Amazon, so having other options is definitely a good idea.
Thanks for the list.

Hi, Darren
I think that being aware of other blogs in the niche, helps build a better image of what is out there. You can check how to send other documents or eBooks to Kindle using Amazon’s Send To Kindle apps and browser add-ins.
I also have Kindle apps installed on my iPad and Android phone. It is very convenient when I don’t have my Kindle with me.
Thanks for the comments and keep reading 🙂
Hey Mario,
Thanks for sharing this list! I’ve turned to eBooks these last few years. I mean, physical books are awesome but eBooks are much more portable and you can have access to so many more in one device. I mainly use Kindle and got books from Amazon, but your list made me realize there are many more places to choose from as well as blogs about eBooks. I’ll be sure to check these out!
Chees,
Anh
Hi, Ann!
I turned to ebooks myself for the same reasons as you. I mention them in a relevant post on my blog. I like reading on my Kindle in bed before sleeping without any lights on – and disturbing my wife 😉
I’m glad that you found the post helpful. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
I always like looking around to see if there are new products in ebook readers especially for mobile phones. I’m a lover of ebook reading while on the go on my smartphone and currently am using one on the free version and it’s great. I wonder if the ones you have listed are also compatible with Android smartphones or iPhones?
To me, Kindle World seems like the best because of it’s ability to offer information on reviews despite the fact that they have stopped the updates and I hope they will resume soonest. I would also go for the hybrid ebook reader as my best option because of the features. I’d like to know their prices please
Hi there!
Many of these blogs have posts on mobile devices (besides eReaders) and apps for reading eBooks as well. But they are more focused on ebook readers.
Kindle World is indeed a great resource on Kindle technology. I frequently visit it for clarifications as well.
Please let me know which hybrid ebook reader you are referring to, so that I can check it out and get back to you
Thanks!
This is great! I’ve been looking to get into reading on my tablet more. I have paperbacks that are sitting on my book shelf, but I can only read them when I get home. The great thing about these e-books is that you can literally take them with you anywhere. I’d rather read when waiting for my oil change than scroll Facebook…
Do you know of any audio e-books? I would really love to listen while I drive to and form work.
Thanks,
-Jason
Hi, Jason!
i like eBooks for reading and audiobooks for listening.
I use Amazon’s Audible for audiobooks. Using these, one can read and listen to the same book with syncing.
This is a good idea for a new post. Thanks!
Hi, great choice of eReader blogs.
I personally will check out the teleread, I need to get informed about eBooks my self and that blog you recommend seems to be the right place for that.
I also like the way it is set up and the firs impression.
Have you made your first eBook yet? is it hard to do, I’m a bit scared to start the task.
Hey Stefan,
Teleread is great, as are the other blogs I mention in this post. I haven’t written or published an ebook yet, but, it’s in my to-do list
Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Hey i really enjoyed your article it was very informative. I have never had a kindle myself but i have started writing my own Ebooks not to long ago. I have 2 done so far and i am wanting more and they are for sale on kindle and amazon. I want to get a lot better at writing them, there was a lot of good information here.
Hey Justin,
It’s great to know that you have written some eBooks and published them on Amazon. I haven’t published a book yet, I intend to.
The blogs I mention in this post are good for reading. There are other blogs great for writing and publishing, such as The Creative Penn and others.
Thanks for stopping by!

Marios, Hi! It seems to me that you have not yet realized the importance and value of the selection of sites on the e-reader topic.
Suppose that I begin to comment on your analysis of each blog. There is not enough space.
So I opened the Digital Reader blog and my eyes ran away, what interesting topics.
For example, Latest News: Amazon Launches New Website for KDP-Reports Authors. Or, Gutenberg is Now is Being Foisted Upon WordPress Users. Or, NEWS OF THE E-BOOK WORLD and many more interesting things.
I am ready to continue, but the conclusion is the same: e-reader is a tremendous opportunity for self-development.
And still to mention the universal app Google Play Books.
Thank you – the great book enthusiast- for such useful work. Mark.
Hey Mark,
Thanks for a very enlightening comment. It is true that there are many sites and tools regarding reading and creating eBooks. I’m in the pricess of mastering the topic, since I am very interested in it. I will try to write more posts that will be useful to my readers.
Please let me know if you have any questions or write about someting specific. thanks for stopping by!
